Basic traits

Starting traits that can be gained (or rarely lost) through mutation, and in this case can be cleaned with purifier like any other mutation.

They can jump out as part of pre-evolution to further feature (if this further mutation is rolled too early and cannot be gained by itself), or as part of category self-enforcing, or just because trait is especially mentioned in mutation_data.cpp file.

This trait adds 1.1 multiplier to the regeneration of action points, resulting in more movement and actions in the same number of turns. This is 10% of the action points you would otherwise have, and is calculated last; thus, if your speed already has been reduced to 50, it will only provide 5 action points.

It reduces your stumble penalty to (penalty * 0.4) - 10. This means you are less likely to lose a turn by missing.

"Peaceful animals will not run away from you, and even aggressive animals are less likely to attack. This only applies to natural animals such as woodland creatures."

It will make all non mutated animals, such as bears and wolves, ignore you, they will even leave you alone if you kill one of their number.

It makes NPCs and animals more likely to run in fear from you.

When head or torso HP is reduced to critical low values, character gets an adrenaline boost. Use it wisely -- it is very easy to escape or kill monsters with these bonuses, but after first five minutes run out, there will be heavy penalties.

Light StepPF_LIGHTSTEP BIRD

"You make less noise while walking. You're also less likely to set off traps."

You generate noise of volume 2 when moving, rather than volume 6, and thus can only be heard by very nearby monsters (in two squares radius, and most of the monsters ignore so nearby sounds). You also get a fairly low bonus of 2d6 when checking whether you avoided a trap.

Robust GeneticsPF_ROBUST SLIME

"You have a very strong genetic base. If you mutate, the odds that the mutation will be beneficial are greatly increased."

When you mutate, the chance that the mutation will be "bad" is decreased to 1/9, from initial 1/3. This makes a mutation-hungry player viable, though it is still a good idea to only mutate if purifier is available.

Near-SightedPF_MYOPIC BEAST TROGLOBITE

"Without your glasses, your seeing radius is severely reduced! However, while wearing glasses this trait has no effect, and you are guaranteed to start with a pair."

The player's vision range is reduced to four tiles away when not wearing eyeglasses. With them player vision is normal.

In addition to a points value, mutations have a visibility value and an ugliness value. Positive visibility means that the mutation is prominent. This will visibly identify the player as a mutant, resulting in discrimination from mutant-haters and trust with mutants/mutant-lovers. Positive ugliness means that the mutation is grotesque. This will result in a negative reaction from NPCs, even those who are themselves mutated, unless the NPC is a mutant-lover.
